Privacy policy
Local by default, explicit when data leaves.
Effective date: 2026-07-18. This policy explains how ClipDock processes screenshots, OCR text, metadata, diagnostics and backups.
ClipDock does not operate a screenshot cloud account or hosted OCR service. Your library and OCR stay on the Windows device by default. A backup is created only in a location you choose.
1. Who we are
ClipDock is a Windows desktop tool for organizing screenshots and managing a visual clipboard.
2. Data processed by the app
ClipDock does not operate a ClipDock cloud account or advertising service. The app processes the following data so its features can work:
- Images you capture or import: screenshots or images you paste or drag into the app.
- Workspace metadata: information needed to display and manage items, such as filename, size, grouping and timestamps.
- OCR text, if enabled: text recognized from images for local search and copy.
- Local diagnostic logs: runtime and Store-entitlement status used for troubleshooting. Logs stay local unless you choose to copy and share them.
3. Where data is stored
By default, screenshots, OCR text, metadata, settings and diagnostic logs are stored on your local device. Local OCR is performed through Windows OCR components. ClipDock does not send image content to an AI or hosted OCR service.
4. Network access and user-chosen backup locations
- No ClipDock upload service: ClipDock does not upload screenshots or OCR text to a server operated by ClipDock.
- Folders you choose: migration and versioned-backup features copy workspace data to a local folder you select. If that folder is synchronized by OneDrive or another provider, that provider processes the copied files under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Microsoft Store: the app contacts Microsoft Store for product availability, licensing, purchase, subscription and review operations. ClipDock does not receive your payment-card details.
- Links you open: privacy, email, feedback and subscription-management actions open your browser, mail app, Microsoft Forms or Microsoft account pages. Data you submit there is handled by that service.
5. Permissions and system capabilities
- Screen capture and window interaction: capture the screen and enable region selection.
- Clipboard access: read or write images and text, such as copying OCR text.
- File-system access: store workspaces locally, export images, migrate and back up data.
6. Diagnostics and sensitive information
ClipDock does not intentionally include screenshot pixels, OCR text or full local file paths in Store diagnostics. Local logs and exported files can still reflect names you chose. Review copied diagnostics and attachments before sending them to support.
7. How to delete your data
- You can delete images and eligible workspaces within the app. Deleted content may remain in ClipDock's recently deleted area, Windows Recycle Bin or a backup point until you remove it there.
- You can delete the local workspaces folder and any user-chosen backup folders to remove those copies. Folder locations are available from app settings and diagnostics.
- Uninstalling the app may not delete user-created libraries, exports or backups. Remove those files separately if you no longer want them.

9. Policy updates
We may update this policy. Updates will be posted on this page and the effective date above will change when the policy changes.
